Through the Rio-convention Norway is required to take care of the Fjord Horse, as Norway is the motherland of the breed. Nordfjordeid is the centre for activities around the breed, and the westen part of Norway is the core area for the Fjord Horse.
The semen station at the Norwegian Fjord Horse Center tries to give a stable and good offer to the owners of the mares. When choosing a stallion we look at the blood lines that are a bit uncommon, a good expression and temperament.
